NEEC Conference 2011

The North of England Education Conference (NEEC)is the UK’s biggest annual education conference and has been a key date in the UK’s education calendar for over 100 years.

24Sevenmedia were tasked with a number of jobs for the event. The first to produce a DVD to be displayed on large screens to visitors to the event. The DVD was titled a celebration of Blackpool Schools and showcased the achievements of Blackpool in increasing education and reducing issues such as bullying and teenage pregancy. Videos were provided to us and we combined them along with video we had filmed for the council throughout the year, we cut this to a inspirational sound track with messages and the DVD proved a great way to highlight the achievements of Blackpool Schools.

“The DVD was fantastic. We had it running on the giant screens and it was very well recieved. David Lund (Childrens Services Director) was delighted and commented on how professional the production was. A job well done. Thank you. Gillian Fennel.”

The second task was to provide filming support (in conjunction with CMS) of the Civic Reception where guests includnig the Blackpool Mayor were entertained with an African Drumming performance, a choir, a Brass Band and this years Pop Idol winner, all performed by Children from Blackpool Schools. We assisted with filming at the Gala Dinner held at the world famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom with Ann widdecombe memorably appearing on the Wurlitzer as it raised into view on the main stage before addressing the audience. Finally we assisted with filming the speakers on the last day of the conference Friday, speakers included Bill Beaumont, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Ann Widdecombe and Sharon Shoesmith.
