Blackpool Music Service – Musician of the Year 2014

Blackpool Music Service held it’s annual Musician of the year competition on 4 March 2014.

24sevenmedia was on hand to photograph this event and create some stunning mementos for the students and staff alike.

On Tuesday 4 March 2014 Blackpool Music Service held its ‘Musician of the Year 2014′ event. It was held at Springfield Methodist Church again this year because of the quality piano and wonderful acoustics.

This is a wonderful event for Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, which encourages friends and family to support their talented children in a pleasant but competitive environment. Previous year’s winners have ended up playing in London’s Festival Hall so the step up from local church hall to national prestigious arena is massive but it has to start with the recognition of who do we choose to support.

They had entrants representing several of Blackpool’s Primary Schools and Academies in the KS2 competition, and nearly every Secondary School and Academy in Blackpool was represented in the KS3 & KS4 competition.

The winner of Primary School Musician of the Year 2014 is Brioni Crowe from Anchorsholme Primary School. Brioni played ‘Idylle’ on the flute.

The winner of KS3 Musician of the Year 2014 is Lewis Wood from St Mary’s Catholic College. Lewis played ‘Frensham & Pond’ by William Lloyd Webber on the clarinet.

The winner of KS4 Musician of the Year 2014 is Caleb Curtis from Montgomery High School. Caleb played ‘YYZ’ on the bass guitar.
